Very Good, Mary Faye

At the end of every meal, no matter what was served, my grandfather routinely pushed back from the table and proclaimed "Very good, Mary Faye" to his beloved wife. After suffering from a stroke and completing rehabilitation, my grandfather was able to go home to his bride and be the man we knew and loved. In watching his journey of recovery and adaptation, I was introduced to Occupational Therapy. My grandfather's chance to regain old hobbies was a testament to the power of therapy and the pursuit of a life that is "Very good, Mary Faye."

  1. What a sweet tribute - from him to your grandmother and from you to him - and a touching OT origin story! Thanks for sharing, Ali.
